Hal Veal Jr., 69, killed and woman injured in 2-car crash on Cliff Gookin Boulevard in Tupelo, Mississippi

One dead, one injured in Tupelo wreck

Tupelo Police Capt. Tim Clouse said several eye witnesses gave statements to the police about the wreck, but he could not divulge any information about the direction or speeds of the vehicles.
On Wednesday afternoon, a Chevrolet Corvette driven by Hal Veal Jr. of Tupelo crossed the center line of Cliff Gookin Boulevard, a five-lane road, around 5 p.m., colliding with a Chevrolet Camaro about a quarter-mile east of the intersection with South Thomas Street. Veal was not wearing a seat belt and was killed. The Camaro driver, an as-yet unidentified woman, was transported to the North Mississippi Medical Center in unknown condition. We'll update this story with any new details we receive.
