Tishomingo man charged with DUI manslaughter

A Tishomingo man is facing manslaughter charges after he collided with a motorcycle on the Natchez Trace Parkway Wednesday.

UPDATE: Man faces one count of DUI-manslaughter

Donnie William Sartain, 49, is charged in the deaths of two people in a traffic accident on the Natchez Trace Parkway Wednesday.

Sartain pleads guilty to motorcycle deaths

Donnie William Sartain, 50, of Tishomingo, was set to go to trial in late October when he accepted a plea deal from the U.S. Attorney’s Office. Instead of going to trial, Sartian agreed to change his plea on the lesser charges of involuntary manslaughter.
Donnie William Sartain is charged in the deaths of Pauline Demers, 56, and Gerard Nault, 56, of Sherbrooke, Quebec, Canada. Court documents say Sartain was impaired when he was driving his pickup on the Natchez Trace Parkway near mile marker 289 around 4:15 Wednesday afternoon. The truck crossed the center line and collided head-on with a motorcycle with Demers and Nault on board. The two died at the scene of the accident.
