“The same police who were pursuing him actually pulled him out of the burning car. Yeah, he’s pretty lucky to be alive,” said Sergeant Joe Fanara with the Blue Springs Police Department.
In the morning, a 15-year-old boy who ran a stop sign didn't stop for an officer, and instead led police on wild chase, damaging property such as fences and mailboxes along the way. Eventually the teen crashed into a tree and the vehicle caught fire, leaving the police who were chasing him to rescue him from the vehicle. As of now, the teen is still in the hospital, and charges against him are pending.
