A 26-year-old Independence man who was days away from graduating college with a master’s degree was killed early Saturday in a skateboard accident in Warrensburg, Mo.

Austin was pronounced dead at the scene. He would have graduated in two weeks from the university with a master's degree.
Dylan Austin was riding a skateboard on College Avenue at around 2:15 a.m. when he lost control of his board. He struck his head on a concrete curb and was pronounced dead at the scene. Witnesses say that he was going down a hill in the darkness when the crash occured. Austin was about to graduate with a degree in kinesiology exercise science, and was planning to work at the Western Missouri Medical Center.
