Stone County Sheriff Doug Rader says the two people aboard the plane were killed. The man and woman were from Gardner, Kansas. Rader says they were meeting family in the Branson area.

The Stone County Sheriff’s Office identified the victims as Keith M. Curtis, 52, of Gardner, who was piloting the plane, and Dawn Curtis, 45. The two were listed at the same address in Gardner.

Authorities with the Stone County Fire Protection District say they don’t know what caused the plane to go down around the area of Yocom Pond and the Branson West Airport around 6:30 p.m.
