Four from Iowa hurt in Lake of the Ozarks boat crash(link is external)

Four people from Iowa suffered serious injuries in a boat crash at Lake of the Ozarks. The Missouri Highway Patrol reports the people hurt when the boat they were riding in hit the shoreline at the 7 mile marker in the Big Niangua Arm of the lake. The impact threw all four people out of the boat. The accident happened just before 11:30 Friday night. Rescuers airlifted three of the victims to University Hospital in Columbia, the other was airlifted to Mercy Springfield.

FORSYTH, Mo. (AP) - Four people from Iowa have suffered serious injuries after their motorboat struck the shore of the Lake of the Ozarks in southwest Missouri. The Missouri State Highway Patrol says the grounding happened late Friday on the Big Niangua arm of the lake. Three people from Cedar Rapids and a fourth person from Des Moines were thrown from the runabout.  All four were flown from the scene for medical treatment.
