One person was arrested after a multi-vehicle wreck shut down Interstate 270 for several hours in north St. Louis County late Tuesday night. The wreck happened on I-270 at Route 370 in Bridgeton around 11:45 p.m. According to police, Javier Hernandez was driving eastbound when he lost control of his 2001 Grand Prix and struck a 2000 Ford Explorer, causing it to roll over. Hernandez was taken into custody and later charged with driving while intoxicated and 2nd-degree felony assault. The driver of the Explorer suffered minor injuries. The interstate was shut down for several hours, opening just before 4:00 a.m.
