Police say a 17-year-old died in a car accident after the car he was driving crashed and caught fire Saturday afternoon.
Police say a 17-year-old died in a car accident after the car he was driving crashed and caught fire Saturday afternoon.
Officials say Jesus Pinedo-Almaraz, of Wright City, was driving southbound on Highway D, one mile north of Highway 47, when his car veered off the roadway.
The vehicle then struck a tree stump, overturned and caught fire.
According to police, Almaraz was ejected from the vehicle. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Police say he was not wearing a seat belt.
