2 drivers in their 70s injured in Broadwater crash into laundromat

Drivers of two vehicles, both women in their 70s, were injured when two cars collided at the intersection of 19th Street West and Broadwater Avenue at about noon on Wednesday before crashing through a bus bench and hitting the Gorham Park Laundry, 1902 Broadwater. According to a press release from the Billings Police Department’s Sgt. Shawn Finnegan, a 2009 black Chevy Impala driven by a 74-year-old Billings woman was traveling west on Broadwater and ran a red light. A 2012 Toyota Prius driven by a 73-year-old Billings woman traveling south on 19th Street West was struck by the Impala and the vehicles careened, going over the sidewalk and into the laundry building. At least four police cars, two ambulances and two fire trucks responded to the crash. Both drivers were taken to St. Vincent Healthcare for treatment of injuries, which did not appear to be life-threatening, Finnegan said.
