Authorities responded to a fatal crash on I-90 Frontage Road near Bozeman Wednesday afternoon.
Montana Highway Patrol reports the call came in at 1:30 pm.
A Dodge truck and Subaru crashed at the intersection of the Frontage Road and the East Valley Center Road spur that crosses under I-90, in between Bozeman and Belgrade.
Trooper Brad Moore said the female driver of the Subaru, identified by the Gallatin County coroner as 30-year old Kari Friedman, attempted to make a left hand turn onto the Frontage Road going west toward Belgrade.
The male driver of the Dodge truck was heading eastbound toward Bozeman when the two vehicles collided.
Trooper Moore said Friedman died at the scene. The man was taken to Bozeman Deaconess Hospital, where his condition is unkown.
Moore explained this intersection is dangerous, and they've had other fatal wrecks in the same spot before.
"This is an intersection that you have to be careful of, there's no doubt," Trooper Moore said. "There's a lot of people traveling these roadways. Frontage Road gets a lot of traffic... so when you enter this intersection, you have to be extremely careful."
MHP is leading the investigation on this crash. Trooper Moore said at this time it is unclear whether speed or alcohol were factors.
