1 person killed in helicopter crash near Cascade

Cascade County Sheriff Bob Edwards says the helicopter, a one-person craft known as a Mosquito, crashed into a hillside near Dearborn shortly after 5 p.m. Sunday. Don Ryan, who lives near the crash site, told the Great Falls Tribune that he saw the helicopter fly up a canyon, but then start to spin out of control after turning back.     

Ipswich man dies in crash of copter

An Ipswich man was killed Sunday when the ultralight helicopter he was piloting crashed in Montana, authorities said. In an e-mail, Bob Edwards, sheriff of Cascade County in Montana, identified the victim as 62-year-old John Joseph Maliszewski.

John Joseph Maliszewski, of Ipswich, Massachusetts, owned the helicopter and was the only person aboard it at the time of the crash. His level of skill in piloting is unknown at this time. The accident is under investigation.
