Motorcyclist Seriously Hurt in Sunday Crash

A motorcyclist was seriously hurt in a crash on his birthday Sunday evening. 
Just before 7:30 p.m. Sunday, David Bevard, 57, was traveling northbound on John J. Pershing Drive near Craig Avenue in the Florence neighborhood of Omaha when he lost control of his motorcycle, exited the road, and collided with a utility pole. Bevard and passenger Lori Gard were seriously injured. Police say that alcohol and speed may have been factors in the accident.
