Monday, June 1, 2015Man dies after his motorcycle collides with car near Miller Park
The two bikes were speeding as they weaved in and out of traffic, witnesses said.
On Monday evening, Dillon M. Krivohlavek had been riding his 2012 Kawasaki ZXR north on 30th Street, along with another motorcycle. At the same time, Claudia M. Bean, 24, was driving a white 1997 Grand Prix sedan southbound on 30th Street. Bean attempted to turn left onto Kansas Avenue when Krivohlavek struck the car on its passenger side. Krivohlavek was wearing a helmet and was brought to Nebraska Medical Center in extremely critical condition, where he died a short time later. Bean and her three children were uninjured. Police are looking for the other motorcyclist, who they say was wearing a white T-shirt, blue jeans and a white helmet, and was riding a white motorcycle. Since motorcycle crashes often end in serious injuries, victims need immediate help
Motorcycle accidents are more likely to end in serious injuries or death for the motorcyclist, since the rider is not protected from the force of a collision. When a motorcycle accident happens, the injured rider needs immediate, appropriate medical care, the accident needs to be investigated, and the insurance companies need to be informed.
When a motorcycle crash is caused by negligence, additional steps need to be taken to protect the legal rights of the injured motorcyclist or the family members of someone killed in a motorcycle crash. Go here to learn more about motorcycle accidents and claims.
