A pedestrian is in critical condition after being struck by a vehicle Tuesday night in south Las Vegas, according to Las Vegas police.

Car hits, critically injures pedestrian.

A 57-year-old man suffered critical injuries Tuesday night, after a car struck him near Flamingo Road and Jones Boulevard.

The accident happened shortly before 9 p.m. Police say the victim, later identified as Jiahong Wang, 57, was walking across Jones near Fairbanks Road, when a Lexus, driven by Gabriel Petrescue, 47, hit him. Police say the man was not in a marked crosswalk at the time of the accident. Emergency crews took him to University Medical Center with life-threatening injuries.

Police, so far, have not arrested the driver of the Lexus.
