Coroner identifies Henderson man killed in Lake Mead accident

Whiteaker was pronounced dead at the scene. Two other people were flown to area hospitals following the crash, according to Park Services spokeswoman Christie Vanover.

According to the National Park Service, an adult male was killed in a two-vehicle, head-on collision. Two others were injured and transported to area hospitals by Mercy Air.
The man who died in a two-vehicle collision Monday morning near Lake Mead National Recreation Area was identified Tuesday by the Clark County coroner’s office. Kenneth Monroe Whiteaker, 51 of Henderson, died after two vehicles collided head-on about 10:15 a.m. on Northshore Road, near mile marker 2. Whiteaker was pronounced dead at the scene. Two other people were flown to area hospitals following the crash, according to Park Services spokeswoman Christie Vanover.

It has been a year since my son Kenneth M Whiteaker was killed in a head on collision at mile marker 2 on Lake Mead National Recreacttion Area Northshore Road. Kenneth was hit head on by a man (Barry Tester) from Australia while he was on his way to work at Pabco Gypsum Plant. Mr. Tester was in Las Vegas on vacation besides his engagement to his fiance and his own 50th birthday celebration. At 10:00am on Northshore Road, Mr. Tester,with his fiance, decided to drive his rented 2014 Camaro south on the Northshore Road approaching a left curve at 77 miles an hour. He was unable to make the left curve at that speed and ended up in the opposite lane hitting my son and killing him.  My son Ken died within minutes and Barry Tester and his fiance were flown to UMC hospital for treatment. The Nevada Highway Patrol was responsible for the accident report and the
