Metro Police said a 4-year-old child was killed in an accident involving a suspected DUI driver.

The identity of the girl who was killed in the crash will be released by the Clark County coroner’s office.
Police claimed at around 3 p.m. they received a call concerning a crash involving two vehicles at the intersection of Carey and Sandy. It occured when a car stopped in the middle of the roadway was rear-ended by a pickup truck. The car had two adults, Robert Gonzales, 24, and Josefina Sanchez, 34, and two children inside. Police stated the 3-year-old who was killed was a passenger in the car. There was also a 2-year-old sent to the hospital in critical condition. The two adults in the car with the kids are being treated as well. The driver of the truck, 70-year-old Charles Washington, was arrested at the scene and will be sent to the Clark County Jail. The passenger inside of the truck ran on foot right after the accident. Gonzales was stopped in an eastbound lane on Carey, just east of Sandy, talking to a pedestrian from inside the car when the Dodge Ram crashed into the back of the car.
