Metro IDs arrested hit-and-run driver that critically injured teen
Officers said the 14-year-old pedestrian was crossing at the intersection E. Hacienda Avenue and S. Topaz Street in an unmarked crosswalk when she was struck by a white pickup truck driven by Chavez Thursday morning.

Steve Chavez, 28, of Las Vegas, has been arrested for a hit-and-run involving a 14-year-old pedestrian who was crossing the intersection of E. Hacienda Avenue and S. Topaz Street in an unmarked crosswal on Thursday morning. Chavez fled the scene but was later apprehended. The teen, who hasn't been identified, was taken to Sunrise Trauma Hospital.
