Early morning crash involves Metro patrol car

A portion of the Las Vegas Strip has reopened after a crash involving a Las Vegas police squad car early Wednesday morning, police said. About 5 a.m., Metro responded to a crash on Las Vegas Boulevard South at Flamingo Road, spokesman Officer Larry Hadfield said. The crash caused a marked police car to run into a wall in front of the Cromwell Hotel, 3595 Las Vegas Blvd. Northbound traffic at the intersection of Las Vegas Boulevard and Flamingo Road was restricted Wednesday morning, police said, but the lanes had reopened by 8 a.m. An officer in the patrol car was taken to a hospital with non-life threatening injuries, Hadfield said.
