Desert Inn closed near Maryland after car crashes into house

Desert Inn Road is closed in both directions near Maryland Parkway after a car crashed into a house in the area, police say. While police investigate the 7 a.m. crash into the unoccupied home, 1657 Desert Inn Road, the road is closed between La Canada Street and Pawnee Road. The driver of the car suffered serious injuries and was taken to Sunrise Hospital and Medical Center along with the passenger, whose injuries are unknown, Metro officer Laura Meltzer said Tuesday morning.
