Police: 1 critically injured in crash involving scooter

According to authorities, the crash happened at 11:16 a.m. at the intersection of Bonanza Road and Clarkway Drive, near Martin Luther King Boulevard. Evidence at the scene indicate a pickup truck was making a left turn to Clarkway while a motorized scooter was approaching. The scooter went down on its side and the rider was ejected. The rider was transported to University Medical Center with life threatening injuries. The two vehicles never made contact according to police and the collision remains under investigation.
