Suspected burglars cause wreck that injures 6 people, police say

Suspected burglars fleeing from police caused a wreck that sent six people to the hospital Friday afternoon in the north valley, Las Vegas police say. It wasn't immediately clear whether the suspected burglars were among the six people hospitalized. About 2 miles away, near the intersection of Rancho Drive and Gowan Road, an officer who had spotted the suspected burglars' vehicle tried stopping it, police say. Jeff Clark said. The driver didn't stop, continued on Rancho and crashed about half a mile later at the Cheyenne Avenue intersection.

The crash happened at 1:23 p.m. at the intersection of Cheyenne Avenue and Rancho Drive. The fleeing vehicle hit a pedestrian and jumped a curb at Cheyenne and Rancho, before crashing into another vehicle. According to Officer Laura Meltzer, of Las Vegas Metro police, officers received a report of a burglary at 1:13 p.m. at a home in the 4100 block of Compass Rose Way.
