Man struck, killed while jaywalking near Rio hotel identified
The incident occurred just before 7:30 p.m. at Valley View Boulevard and Viking Road, near Flamingo Road.
According to police, a 31-year-old man from California, identified by the Clark County Coroner's Office as Vanharris Haiola, was crossing the street outside of a marked crosswalk when he was struck by a GMC Denali.
Haiola was transported to University Medical Center, but was pronounced deceased, police said.
