A car pulled onto mainline railroad tracks early Sunday morning just as the Amtrak was approaching west of Wells, resulting in a collision that killed the car’s driver.

Passengers on an Amtrak train from Chicago to San Francisco were delayed after a car pulled onto the tracks resulting in a collision that killed the car's driver.
A car pulled onto a railroad crossing on private land at around 2:30 a.m., where it was struck by an Amtrak train. The driver died at the scene. Crews had to be called in to remove the remains of the vehicle from the track. The driver has not yet been identified.
