State Police Marine Patrol says the accident happened Saturday night on the Piscataqua River when a 59-year-old man operating a 24-foot Boston Whaler struck a buoy, throwing a female passenger into the water.

The man operating the boat, 59-year-old John Wickman of Eliot, Maine, and a 5-year-old boy were hurt. The boy, identified by a GoFundMe page[2] as Michael Wickman, is now at Boston Children’s Hospital.
