David Hoffman charged with DWI after crash on Route 119 that killed Joseph Hautanen, 25, and injured Alyssa Collins, 25, in Rindge, New Hampshire

Collision kills 1, driver charged with DWI

New Hampshire State Police say it appears that alcohol or drugs were a factor in a collision on Route 119 in Rindge that killed a driver.
    At about 6:40 p.m. Thursday, David Hoffman of Ashburnham, MA, was driving west on Route 119 when he crossed over the center line and hit an eastbound car. The driver of that vehicle, Joseph Hautanen of Jaffrey, was pronounced dead at the scene. Hautanen's passenger, Alyssa Collins of Jaffrey, was treated for minor injuries. Hoffman was taken to the hospital, where he was arrested and charged with aggravated driving while intoxicated. The crash is still under investigation.
