Police responded to the scene just after 9 a.m. and found a car overturned on its roof off in the woods north of exit 22 - 202 in Bedminster, said Sgt. First Class Gregory Williams, a State Police spokesman.

The southbound crash happened about 9 a.m. Wednesday at mile marker 23.1, just north of the I-78 interchange in Bedminster Township.

The vehicle, a Nissan Murano operated by Keisha Austin, 43, of East Orange, and carrying two passengers, was traveling on I-287 south at mile marker 23.1 at about 9 a.m. when it veered out of control, said Sgt. First Class Gregory Williams, a State Police spokesman.
New Jersey State Police confirm that one person is dead following reports of an accident on Route 287 near mile marker 23 in Bedminster Township. Shortly after 9 a.m. a car was found overturned on its roof in the woods. Only one vehicle was involved. Keisha Austin, 43, was driving the vehicle with her son and her infant grandson. The baby was ejected from the vehicle and died at the scene. Austin and her son both sustained serious injuries and were flown by medical helicopter to Morristown Medical Center.
