A preliminary police investigation revealed a 2017 Nissan Maxima, driven by a 35-year-old Flemington man, was driving westbound on Main Street when the vehicle left its lane of travel, crossed the double yellow line, went off of the roadway and struck William Richardson,18, of Bedminster Township who was walking on the sidewalk, police said.

William Richardson was hit about 6:10 p.m. on Main Street (Route 202) after the westbound 35-year-old driver crossed the double yellow line near the intersection with Elm Street, Bedminster police said in a statement Tuesday.
