Driver in wrong-way Turnpike crash charged with drunken driving
Luis Hernandez, 68, of Wharton, was charged with driving while intoxicated following the 9:31 p.m. crash in Elizabeth, State Police Trooper Alejandro Goez said.
He said Hernandez was driving a Ford F150 south in the northbound car lanes of the highway. Hernandez collided with a Honda Civic that was traveling north on the highway near exit 13, the trooper said.
