Miraculously, no one was hurt, according to the report. The driver was an elderly man, witnesses told CBS 2. The accident occurred just before 6 p.m. last night. A cell phone video aired by the news station shows the white SUV as it passes a fast food restaurant and slowly makes its way down a corridor until it crashes through a wall of a vacant store.
83-year-old who crashed through Jersey City mall 'unsure what happened,' police say
The 83-year-old from Jersey City was taken to Jersey City Medical Center-Barnabas Health after the accident and was placed under observation for a short time and then released, hospital spokesman Mark Rabson said today.
"Glass was everywhere," said Rasik Patel, owner of News Etc., a mall kiosk, "I watched it go right past me. People were screaming."
"He was driving like he was numb," another man said.
