Eugene Thacker, 80, of Newark, was transported to University Hospital and pronounced dead at 9:42 p.m. Sunday night, about an hour after Newark police were notified of a vehicle-pedestrian collision at the intersection of Clinton Avenue and Irvine Turner Boulevard in Newark.
