New Jersey state police are investigating a deadly accident overnight along Route 55 in Gloucester County.

Around 5 a.m. a pedestrian was struck by a vehicle along Route 55 just north of Exit 53. The pedestrian sustained fatal injuries, and their identity was not immediately known. The northbound side of Route 55 was closed while police investigated.
