Toms River car crash kills 28-year-old woman, injures child
Stocco said the woman was driving southbound on New Hampshire Avenue at 11:15 a.m. when, for reasons not known yet, the car crossed the center yellow line and left the roadway. It then went over the curb and crashed into several trees, coming to a rest on its side in a water retention basin.
Woman Killed, Infant Spared In Toms River Crash, Police Say
Toms River Police spokesman Ralph Stocco said the baby was found in its safety seat when rescuers crawled inside the overturned vehicle and freed from the seat. The infant is being treated at a local hospital and is expected to make a full recovery, he said.

The baby girl, who is less than a year old, is in good condition at the hospital and is expected to make a full recovery, Stocco said. Eisdorfer and her family had just moved to Toms River within the last month and the crash occurred nearby her home, he said.
