Police say a pedestrian was killed while trying to cross New Hampshire Avenue in Takoma Park. Prince George’s County police say Walter Franco-Chinchilla, 32, was struck by two cars late Saturday night as he crossed the road. He was not in a crosswalk, and he was pronounced dead at the scene.

An accident near Silver Spring's White Oak Shopping Center sent one Metro bus driver to the hospital with serious injuries. According to Montgomery County Fire Department, crews responded to a Metro bus crash in the 11200 block of New Hampshire Avenue around 3:30 p.m. Monday.
