1 DEAD AFTER SMALL PLANE CRASHES IN BASS RIVER STATE FOREST IN BURLINGTON COUNTY
One person is dead after a small plane crashed in the Bass River State Forest in Washington Township, Burlington County, according to NTSB officials.
Authorities say the two-passenger aircraft, identified as a Ryan Navion-A, had departed from Salisbury, Maryland, on Saturday, but failed to arrive at Ocean County Airport in New Jersey on Saturday night as scheduled.

After attempts to communicate with the pilot were unsuccessful, his cellphone was tracked to the area where the plane was found. A multiagency search began Sunday morning and a Coast Guard helicopter crew spotted the plane a few hours later.
Bad weather led to fatal plane crash in Ocean County, NTSB concludes
A pilot with 800 hours of flight experience, Lindley received an informal weather report from a friend approximately one hour before he took off, warning him of strong wind conditions. The two had been together at the Hummel Field Airport in Saluda, Va.
