Union City police officers were blocking off the street and investigating at Palisades Avenue and 31st Street Wednesday evening after a 16-year-old cyclist was hit and killed by a garbage truck. Authorities said that's when two motorcyclists zoomed through the intersection, hitting three officers.

Sean was an officer in the school's HOSA club, an international student organization for students aspiring to a career in health care. Abbato said counselors from the district's crisis intervention team are being made available Thursday, and many students had sought their assistance.
