2 seriously injured in Route 23 crash in Wayne, cops say
WAYNE — Two people were seriously injured Tuesday morning when a tractor-trailer crashed into their pickup truck, police said. The accident was first reported at around 11:30 a.m. on Route 23 north just south of the Mountain View Boulevard exit, Capt. Laurence Martin of the Wayne Police Department said in a news release.

The passenger in the pickup truck, identified as Christian M. Calle-Valdez, 29, of Orange, was in “extremely, extremely, extremely grave condition” Wednesday night, Martin said. The driver, Adil Gega, 47, of Lincoln Park, was in somewhat better condition, but still grave, he added.
