1 person killed, 4 critically injured in I-10 crash east of Deming

One person is dead and four others were critically injured in a car crash on I-10 near Deming early Thursday morning, New Mexico, according to New Mexico State Police. ABC-7's crew at the scene say it happened near mile marker 100, east of Deming. An SUV flipped in the eastbound lanes. The four injured were air-lifted to University Medical Center in El Paso.       The scene has been cleared and all lanes on I-10 are now open.

Police: California woman killed in rollover in New Mexico

DEMING, N.M. (AP) New Mexico State Police say a California woman is dead and six other people are critically injured after a vehicle rollover east of Deming. Investigators say a 24-year-old Los Angeles woman lost control of the vehicle she was driving and it overturned and ejected several passengers. Police say 52-year-old Patricia Cereceres of Los Angeles was pronounced dead at the scene. They say the driver and five other passengers in the vehicle were airlifted to a Texas hospital and are listed in critical condition. Police say the accident occurred about 5 a.m.
