Cuca Gilliland, 84, dies after collision in Arroyo Plaza parking lot in Las Cruces, New Mexico
Police identify Las Cruces woman killed in crash(link is external)
Police say Gilliland was driving a car that left the Arroyo Plaza parking lot and then apparently tried to make a U-turn. They say her vehicle was struck broadside on the driver's side. The 30-year-old driver of the other vehicle escaped injury.
Police say Cuca Gilliland died at a hospital shortly after the accident. Alcohol and speed aren't considered to be contributing factors, and both drivers were believed to be wearing seatbelts. No citation was issued.
