Old Las Vegas Highway is closed in both directions near the Sunrise General Store and is expected to remain closed for several hours after a two vehicle, head-on fatal accident just after 11 a.m. this morning. The sheriff’s office’s Fatal Accident Investigation Team has just arrived on the scene, said Major Ken Johnson. The crash involved two vehicles, each with a single occupant. The female driver of a passenger vehicle was killed after colliding with an SUV driven by a man, who was taken to a local hospital with possibly life-threatening injuries, said Johnson. Alcohol or drugs do not appear to be a factor in the crash, said Johnson. The crash is under investigation.
