Developer killed in boat crash was drunk, police say
A blood test performed as part of the autopsy of John Michaels found that his blood alcohol content was above the 0.08 percent threshold for intoxication, State Police spokesman Trooper Mark Cepiel said Wednesday.
New York state police say a man has died after crashing his boat on Lake George.
Troopers said Saturday that John Michaels of Bolton Landing was driving the 21-foot Steiger when it hit rocks and trees along the shoreline.
The wreck happened at about 10 p.m. Friday.
Police say the 57-year-old suffered massive trauma. He was the only person on the boat.
Troopers say Michaels was pronounced dead at a nearby hospital.
