Steven Carpenter, 38, and Katelynn Coville, 30, killed in single-vehicle motorcycle crash on County Road 10A in Preston, New York
Two Guilford residents killed in motorcycle crash
The sheriff's office says the operator of the motorcycle, Steven Carpenter, 38, of Guilford, was traveling east on County Road 10A when he lost control of the motorcycle and slid into a guide rail.
The passenger on the motorcycle was Katelynn Coville, 30, of Guilford. Both Carpenter and Coville died at the scene.
Since motorcycle crashes often end in serious injuries, victims need immediate help
Motorcycle accidents are more likely to end in serious injuries or death for the motorcyclist, since the rider is not protected from the force of a collision. When a motorcycle accident happens, the injured rider needs immediate, appropriate medical care, the accident needs to be investigated, and the insurance companies need to be informed.
When a motorcycle crash is caused by negligence, additional steps need to be taken to protect the legal rights of the injured motorcyclist or the family members of someone killed in a motorcycle crash. Go here to learn more about motorcycle accidents and claims.
