Two small planes collide in Alden

Two small planes collided over Townline and Kieffer roads this morning, and rescue crews from Townline, Alden and Lancaster are at the scene, the Townline fire department reports. Erie County Firewire says there was no fire, a plane is intact but injuries have been reported.

Two Lancaster residents, 78-year-old male pilot and his 14-year-old male passenger, died when their plane crashed several hundred yards off of Town Line Road in Lancaster. A 9 year-old girl and an adult male pilot walked away with non-life threatening injuries after their plane made a crash landing in a field in Alden. off of Kieffer Road.   Allen Wadsworth heard the collision as the planes hit. “I heard this crashing noise, and looked up," he said. “I saw a plane as I looked toward Townline Road. It veered off toward the right. The other plane flipped and spiraled down to the ground."
