Driver charged with fatality of blind man walking in crosswalk - The Buffalo News

Robert Christner was charged with failing to yield the right of way to a blind or visually impaired person in a crosswalk, Batavia police said. A 78-year-old LeRoy driver has been charged in Saturday’s fatal collision involving a pedestrian in Batavia. Christner was the lone occupant of the vehicle, Christner was also ticketed for having an expired vehicle inspection. He had the right of way in the cross walk. He also was using a white reflective cane with a red tip, indicating his visual impairment.
