Wrong-way driver dies in head-on crash on Niagara Thruway - The Buffalo News

A motorist driving the wrong way on the Niagara Thruway early Saturday died after colliding with another car. The driver, whose name has not been released, was headed southbound in an Audi A8 at about 3 a.m. on the Interstate 190’s northbound lane, near Exit 8 at Niagara Street. A third automobile also struck the Toyota while trying to avoid the accident, but the driver of that vehicle was not injured. The driver of the Toyota was taken to a hospital in critical condition. It crashed into a Toyota Tundra head-on, State Police said.

A Franklinville man remains in critical condition in Erie County Medical Center following Saturday’s wrong-way fatal crash on the Niagara Thruway. Robert Oram, 45, was driving northbound near the Niagara Street exit when an Audi driven by Duriel Price, 32, of Buffalo, hit him head-on. Price, who was driving southbound in the northbound lanes near the Niagara Street exit, was killed in the crash that happened just after 3 a.m. A Cadillac trying to avoid the accident also struck the Toyota, but the driver of that vehicle was not injured.
