Driver faces DWI, vehicular manslaughter charges in hit-and-run

Pacheco, who was walking home at the time, suffered significant injuries and died as a result of the crash, according to Gates police. He was survived by a son, who is a toddler.

Eccleston, 20, pleaded not guilty to a three-count indictment charging her with second-degree vehicular manslaughter and leaving the scene of a personal injury accident resulting in death, both felonies, and driving while intoxicated, a misdemeanor, in connection with with the Aug. 12 crash in Gates.
Mariah A. Eccleston, of Greece, is accused of driving into pedestrian Joseph L. Pacheco, of Gates, on Howard Road on August 12, then leaving the scene. Pacheco later died. She was arraigned Wednesday in Monroe County Court.
