Five hurt in two-car crash in Scio.
Five persons suffered minor injuries, and the drivers of both cars in a two-car crash Tuesday afternoon were ticketed by State Police.
Investigators said Dakota Silsby, 18, of Wellsville was driving north on County Route 9 behind a car driven by Laceanne Wyckoff, 31, of Bolivar, when Wyckoff slowed down to make a left turn as Silsby failed to see her turn signal. He tried to pass the Wyckoff car but struck it on the driver’s side.
The two drivers and Silsby’s passenger, Torrie Schenck, 19, of Greenwood, and Wyckoff’s passengers, Heidi Ellis, 18, of Bolivar and Wyckoff’s daughter, Kayla, 11, were treated for non-life threatening injuries.
Silsby was ticketed for unsafe passing and Wyckoff was ticketed for not having a valid driver’s license. County Route 9 was shut down for a time because of the accident. State Police were assisted at the scene by EMS units from Andover, Amity, Wellsville and Scio.
