Nydja Herring killed after being struck by car driven by Augustus Jenkins.

Police say they have arrested and charged a driver with aggravated DWI in connection with the death of a 32-year-old woman who was struck and killed while crossing a Bronx street Saturday. Nydja Herring was walking across East Tremont Avenue in Parkchester at around 5:30 p.m. when she was allegedly hit by Augustus Jenkins, who was driving down the avenue. Herring's family said she had left home to buy milk for their 2-year-old twins. Jenkins, 28, was arrested and charged with aggravated DWI. Police also say there were children riding with Jenkins during the crash.
