According to police, the woman, whose name was not released, was crossing 90th Street in Jackson Heights at around 6:40 a.m. when the driver of an SUV, heading eastbound on 37th Avenue, hit her and kept on driving.

A preliminary investigation revealed that Yeny Contreras-Baquedano, 60, was allegedly struck by Lima-Artega driving a BMW X6 while crossing the street at 37th Avenue at around 6:43 a.m., according to the NYPD. Lima-Artega then fled the scene, leaving the woman lying in the street, authorities said.
