A heartless driver shoved a dog out of the passenger-side door and drove away as the abandoned pet tried to get back in, according to the Suffolk County SPCA.
A witness says the tan-and-white mix ran after the car, an older model Jeep Grand Cherokee, trying to get in on the driver’s side door. As the dog chased the vehicle down Jerusalem Hollow Road near the Crystal Pond Apartments in Moriches, a car heading in the opposite direction struck the animal.
