Crossing guard Krystyna Naprawa, 63, struck and killed by a vehicle at the intersection of Woodhaven Boulevard and Atlantic Avenue in Queens, New York

A crossing guard died Friday morning after they were struck by a vehicle in Queens, sources said. Officers were called to the scene around 8:04 a.m., according to the NYPD.

Krystyna Naprawa, 63, was standing in the crosswalk on Woodhaven Boulevard when she was hit by the truck making a right-hand turn onto Atlantic Avenue at about 8 a.m., the NYPD said.

The 63-year-old crossing guard, later identified as Krystyna Naprawa, was on duty near the intersection of Atlantic Avenue and Woodhaven Boulevard in the Woodhaven neighborhood and had just helped five people cross the busy street.
